My name is Adam Carey and this will be my first year teaching at St. Mary. I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida for the first 16 years of my life. I graduated from Roosevelt high school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and attended South Dakota State University for college in Brookings (2009-2013). I graduated from SDSU (Go Jacks) with an undergraduate degree in psychology. After college I began working at Lutheran Social Services for four years as a residential counselor and later on as a supervisor. During this time I discovered that I loved teaching kids and wanted to pursue teaching! After working at LSS I worked for the United States Postal Service for over two years. While working at the Post Office I attended the University of Sioux Falls to complete my Masters in Education. I will be teaching third grade and technology class for 2nd grade through 6th grade levels. Outside of the classroom you can find me fishing in Yankton, hunting on the farm in Spencer, South Dakota or exploring the outdoors in Eastern South Dakota. In my free time I love watching and attending sporting events (GO PACK GO). I'm a Florida boy at heart and love the ocean. In my spare time I enjoy listening to comedy podcasts, spending time with my family, and following current events.
