I have always loved to work with young adults. Seeing my older siblings having success in the classroom and showing me, how powerful being a teacher can be also inspired me. I have learned that a good teacher can make an amazing impact on a life, which has inspired my career choice. Without a doubt, a teaching job can be very stressful, and you have to be passionate about it.
You will have difficult days as an educator, but you learn to find the good in everything you do. You work out any problems that you encounter in the classroom setting.
I graduated from St. Mary’s School in 1999. Later attended Minnesota State University, Bethany Junior College and graduated from Dakota State University with a degree in Elementary Education and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in education leadership.
I student taught in Las Vegas and taught in the Clark County School District for 9 years. I also taught in Sleepy Eye Minnesota at St. Mary’s Elementary for 2 years.
I had the chance to teach at a high achieving school in Las Vegas. We were able to set high goals on state tests and achieve those goals. My school was ranked in the top 10 in the 5th largest school district in the nation. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing how the children learn, grow, set goals, and achieve them over the course of a year with me.
