I am Leisa Aanenson. I am very happy to be the third grade teacher this year. This is my first year at St. Mary’s and my first year teaching third grade. I am enjoying third grade and the students I teach.
I graduated from the University of South Dakota and began my teaching career in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After teaching there for ten years, I moved to Florida and taught in Orlando for five years before coming back to this area. I really missed the change of seasons. I taught in
South Dakota again for a number of years before my husband’s job took us to Iowa. I taught in Storm Lake, Iowa for four years at St. Mary’s Elementary and then my husband’s job brought us here to Worthington. I have had the great opportunity to teach in many wonderful schools for over 35 plus years and I am happy to now be here at St. Mary’s. I have taught in all grades preschool through 3rd grade and have loved them all.
I am married to John who is the manager of the Runnings here in town. We have 5 grown
children and two wonderful daughter-in -laws. Our daughter lives in Sioux Falls, but the four boys are further away. Two are in the Black Hills. one in Alexandria, Mn and one in Raleigh NC. We have 6 grandchildren who range in age from 6 months to 5 years old. The youngest two are twins. We love to visit all of them as much as we can. We also have a very cute, very spoiled mini-schnauzer named Oscar.
