ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Catholic schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Winona-Rochester are established to carry out the teaching ministry of the Catholic Church. As such, the religious and educational work shall at all times continue to be in accordance with the teachings and laws of the Roman Catholic Church and the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. The St. Mary's Catholic School Board is established consistent with policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and best practices promulgated by the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Winona-Rochester.
INTRODUCTION AND RATIONALE
This School Board shall have as its primary concern the ministry of St. Mary’s School education: the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of students.
The School Board of operates in conformity with the policies of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, under the guidance of the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools, the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Winona - Rochester, and the Pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. It shall concern itself with local school policy matters pertaining to the general excellence of Catholic education at St. Mary’s Catholic School.
The School Board, in collaboration with the Principal, shall formulate school policies that will enable St. Mary’s Catholic School to reach its agreed upon goals. These goals will be related to, but not limited to, the overall goals established by the Diocese of Winona-Rochester.
